Emergency Management Training

Training is offered for First Responders and also for community members and other partners across the county.

Topics include how to manage incidents, work in shelters, use the DEM Secured Portal, build plans for high risk populations, and much more.
Training is available for these groups: Use the 2014 NIMS Fact Sheet to determine what required training may be needed for your organization to be compliant with the National Incident Management System.

HLS Region 5 (Pierce County) Training and Exercise Committee meets to allocate Training and Exercise Grant Funding.

Each year HLS Region 5 work with other jurisdictions in WA State to develop a three-year training and exercise plan. Pierce County plans are on pages 38, 50, and 57 of the State of Washington Training & Exercise Plan 2015-2017.
